Happy first day of spring! While here in San Diego it has been feeling more like winter, the spring flowers are still bursting out with glee. Here’s a small sample of flowers for a spring celebration that I recently whipped up.
I especially like how the Spanish lavender mimics sweet violets. The lavender much sturdier and more prolific here in Southern California.
Oak leaves always get used for fall arrangements, but when they are a tender green like this, they just cry out spring!
Nasturtiums have always been a favorite of mine. Kind of a tenacious weed here, but they come in such a lovely range of colors, who cares that they spring up everywhere?
When I spotted (smelled, really) the lovely Orange blossoms, I knew they needed to be included! I like flowers that indulge all the senses!
So, look around you. What spring lovelies do you see that are ripe for the picking?
LOVE! So simple and beautiful.

Thank you so much, Mandy! They were fun arrangements to make.
That is so original and lovely. A real local bouquet. Great combination of spring flowers. Just needs some sweet peas.
The sweet peas weren’t blooming yet, or I would have!
