Burlap Wrapped Thanksgiving Arrangement

There is nothing wrong with a plain glass vase, but when you add a detail like a wrapping of burlap and twine, it adds that little something extra that cries out ‘fall.’

Trimming Recycled Burlap Coffee Bags

My local coffee roaster gives me burlap sacks for free. It’s a bit messy to cut them into usable pieces, and you end up with green coffee beans everywhere, but it’s free, you can feel good about recycling, and you end up with some cool graphics and writing on some of the bags.

wrapping the recycled burlap around the vase.

I use a little fun-tack behind the burlap to help keep it in place. The nice thing about a rustic look is that perfection and neatness are not the goal!

I like to wrap around the vase with wired twine.

You can use normal twine for this project too, but I really find that the wired twine secures the burlap better. You can buy spools of this in Michael’s in the floral section. I never thought I would use this as much as I do- it’s one of my favorite tools!

A pile of fall flowers.

All of these flowers are easily available at your local grocery store, and possibly your own backyard. Remember, it’s supposed to look imperfect.

Jam jars look cute wrapped in burlap too, so start clearing you cupboards out, and see what new vases you can find!

  3. That’s so cute! I love that this arrangement is meant to look a bit imperfect. Burlap sacks are the best!
